ZinxChatBot is the crawler behind Zinx Chat. If you found it in your logs, this page says what it does and how to stop it.
What it is
A Zinx Chat customer asked us to read pages from a website so their assistant can answer questions about it. Usually that is their own site.
It identifies itself with this user agent:
ZinxChatBot/1.0 (+https://chat.zinx.app/bot)
How it behaves
- It reads robots.txt first and skips anything it disallows.
- It honours
Crawl-delay, and otherwise waits at least half a second between pages. - It reads one page at a time and stays on the site it was given.
- It reads at most 500 pages in a single run.
- It may come back to re-read pages on a schedule, at most once a day.
Blocking it
Add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: ZinxChatBot Disallow: /
It takes effect on the next run. If it is reading something it should not, write to hello@zinx.app with your domain.
